Hi! I’m Megha (She/Her)
I am a Queer-Trans Affirmative Feminist Therapist based in Bombay (Mumbai) and offer online counseling and psychotherapy in English & Hindi.
I have been practicing psychotherapy since 2009, after graduating from Temple University, Philadelphia, with a Master’s in Counseling Psychology. Since then, I have worked as a mental health professional in several settings - school and agency included. My desire to help those in crisis, however, goes back even further, when I joined Lafayette Crisis Center in 2006 after graduating from Purdue University in 2006 with a BA in Psychology.
Having grown up in India and studied abroad, I worked with people from diverse backgrounds, facing systemic challenges and mental health concerns. Being a feminist neuroqueer individual (AuDHD), this struck a chord and helped me incorporate the concepts of multiculturism and intersectionality into my practice.
In my therapeutic practice, I use an integrative approach with an emphasis on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Interpersonal therapy, along with elements from other evidence-based therapies.
“Mental health concerns cannot be addressed without understanding their sociocultural contexts. That’s why I usually work towards the concerns brought in by the client, without excessive focus on providing a diagnosis”

Why Aurora?
The word Aurora holds great meaning for me. Inspired by the Roman goddess of dawn, it also describes a magnetic disturbance that serves as the genesis of nature’s most illustrious creation - Aurora Borealis, famously known as the Northern Lights.
To me, Aurora represents the moment when life awakens in all its glory, much like the first light of dawn breaking over the horizon or the day you discover that the “disturbance” you feel does not indicate something wrong with you, but what makes you “illustrious”.
I think Aurora started taking shape the day I started practicing therapy. To me, it meant creating a safe space for anyone, irrespective of identities and labels. Even today, that's what I hope each of my clients take back after therapy - a sense of safety and hope.
